Thanks to its original design, the villa can accommodate up to 15 people with the intention of offering both independence via private room entrances and intimacy with large communal areas for the entire group to enjoy!

Sombras del Viento is nestled between the lush tropical jungle and Soliman Bay, a beautiful nature reserve. This tropical haven will encourage you to relax while admiring the magnificent colors of the Caribbean Sea.

Its blend of natural materials (exotic woods, palapas) with luxurious finishes (marble, granite), graced with the presence of the sea and breathtaking ocean views makes Sombras del Viento one of the nicest private villas in Soliman Bay.

Sombras del Viento has 3 separate units:

BORA: has a living room with American style kitchen fully furnished & 1 king size bedroom, 1 futon, and a large covered deck overlooking the beach.

SIROCCO: has a living room with American style kitchen fully furnished, 1 king size bedroom room facing the sea & a second room with 1 queen size and 1 single bed facing the tropical garden and a large terrace facing the beach.

MISTRAL: On the second level, you will be amazed with the beauty of the panorama that awaits you. Large common spaces, an outside living room with covered terraces, allow you to convene and admire the beauty as an entire group.

Mistral features 2 large bedrooms with A/C and private bathrooms to complete the package.

One bedroom features a king size bed facing the sea and the second bedroom features a queen size bed with private terrace facing the tropical garden. These 2 separate accommodations are for 2–5 people; enjoy the sea breeze as you relax in comfortable outdoor loungers.

On the top floor, under the palapa, a Caribbean atmosphere is assured. You will discover a large king size bedroom with ensuite bathroom. It also has a private terrace where you will enjoy the beautiful picture-frame view of the bay.

Last but not least, Sombras del Viento features a final ocean view room with 2 single beds with shared bathroom.

We had a lovely time! Our concierge was amazing and helpful with anything we needed. The house is gorgeous, breezy, super clean and truly even better than the pictures. The gardening ia also beautiful. It is also right on the beach with many comfy beds, soft chairs, and shade if you like. Bring water shoes though because the ocean is rocky and there is a fair amount of seaweed until you get farther out. They also have kayaks and paddle boards! The food was also great and Martin accommodated our food allergies. The only improvement would be having someone make and serve fresh drinks throughout the day.

We loved our stay at Sombras Del Viento! The pool/outdoor area is amazing, and we had tons of space to spread out and enjoy. The concierge service both pre-trip and during the trip made all planning and logistics extremely seamless. The on-site chef and maid also deliver on a luxury experience for an affordable price compared to hotels in the area. The only watch-outs I would mention are that it is down a rugged road which can make for a bumpy ride, and our shower temperatures were inconsistent with some being cold. I would absolutely recommend this villa though - it’s a fantastic way to spend time with a large group for a vacation, bachelorette party, etc. We also recommend springing for hired bartenders during your stay - that was a highlight of our trip! Sombras del Viento was truly one of the most magically perfect destinations for our family vacation. There were 14 of us, 3 families, two kids, one toddler. From the moment we walked in through the gate, we were greeted by a tropical forest with secret getaway retreats for everyone. The two downstairs apartments provided the perfect balance of privacy and community. Everyone could find their spot or be together. But most importantly, the staff are exceptionally spectacular. My husband and I have traveled the world and Chef Martin is not only the greatest personal chef we’ve ever had, he is incredible company. Iise, Esther, and David were invisible caretakers and cleaners with big smiles. And Raul and Jaqueline and everyone at Maya Luxe made everything so incredible stress free with a smile. I’m an interior design snob who is known for rearranging furniture and lighting upon arrival and I didn’t touch a thing. Everything was truly exceptional. But mostly Martin. Don’t worry about picking meals. Just let him cook for you.
